Shipwire Ecommerce Affiliate & Developer Partner Program

    Hello everybody,

I was hoping to get some feedback on what we could do to improve our partner program and maybe some pointers on the best places to get exposure.

Shipwire enables e-tailers to grow by eliminating the hassles of storage and shipping (supply chain, logistics and order fulfillment).  Our Store-Sell-Ship(tm) platform plugs into merchant's storefronts and marketplaces (ebay, google, paypal, amazon) for order notification and a global warehouse netowrk for order fulfillment.  Warehouse locations in LA, Chicago, Reno, Toronto, Vancouver, UK.

We offer a no cost ecommerce developer affiliate program

The target for this program is Web designers, developers, ecommerce hosts and others that touch retail merchants.

It is not a bounty program.  We actually designed the program to commission or affiliate/partners long term (life of the merchant with Shipwire) each time the referred merchant ships an order.

We provide co-brandable landing pages, newsletters, logos, banner and graphics and opportunities to participate in marketing and press depending on partner tier.

I belive this is a very original partner/affiliate program.  I'm looking for any feedback or thoughts for how to improve it.

    Thank you

    Nate

Re: Shipwire Ecommerce Affiliate & Developer Partner Program

I made sure to look through your Partner page at http://www.shipwire.com/help/c/welcome/partner . Here are my thoughts so far.

    1. Your site design is clean and businesslike. It looks professional and organized.

    2. I appreciate the fact that you spelled out seven benefits of your program.

    3. That's immediately followed by steps on how to start and succeed. Excellent idea -- it helps the user understand what they have to do.

I don't see anything negative at the moment. Hopefully someone else on the forum can provide further advice.

Re: Shipwire Ecommerce Affiliate & Developer Partner Program

I was looking for a way to make my business ‘affiliate friendly’ and then maybe choose a program/software/idea on how to get affiliates and what to do with them. I came across your request and although this is not what I was looking for, I decided to look around. Below are some of the problems I encountered and my suggestions as to how to fix them. Please take everything with a grain of salt as I am no Webmaster, just a trainee.

Your website's 404-error page requires a link to email you and a link to go back to the main page.

I know it is a good idea to have testimonials on your site, but your people don't actually say what they do with Shipwire, which service they use, or how Shipwire helped them. Don't you think it might be a good idea to elaborate a little? Just thanks could mean anything, from thanks for the return email when I cancelled my account, to thanks for replying when my system crashed and you helped me recoup lost files. For me, it would be much more believable.

Then I would also reword “Review all case studies” with “Review more case studies”. This gives the illusion that there are tons of them to wade through whereas your words say there are only 2 or 3, easy to read through in a few seconds.

Maybe you could add a section that asks your customers what changes they would suggest for your website. Their feedback would surely be invaluable. Also I don’t see a FAQ anywhere. I find that’s the quickest way, for me, to find out what a company does.

I’m sure there are other ideas that would be much better from someone else, but I hope this at least gives you a starting point, or maybe you can just delete this note – whatever. It was a lesson to me to see what I looked for in your website. I see now what my website lacks and what I need to do.

If nothing comes from this then at least you have helped me make a better website myself.

    Thank you for the opportunity,

    Judeline Meintjes
