My site is www.ontheinsidedesign.com and I am trying to figure out the best way to push up my organic rankings in google, etc.  I do blogging, article submission, etc.

I would appreciate ideas to make the site better from the experts.

Unfortunately, I couldn't access your site when I clicked your link. I got a "cannot access" error. Maybe it was down at the moment. Perhaps there was a typo in the URL?

on some of the pages its has a right click function to not be able to steal the pictures and put them on someonelse's site and pass of as theirs.

Unfortunately, the same error appeared today. It states "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Most likely causes: - You are not connected to the Internet. - The website is encountering problems. - There might be a typing error in the address."

Since I've been connected to the Web all day, I suspect either #2 or #3 is the problem. Make sure you can access your website from a computer or a browser other than the ones you usually use.

in the post you have www.ontheinsidedesign.com, but when you click on it, it puts in the URL http://www.ontheinsidesign.com/  it is missing the first/or second de for either side or design.  if you type it is manually it works.

Back to the main point... how could JeanN improve that site? Hmm...

idea #1: do your customers use dial-up internet? If so, then you might want to reduce the images on your front page.

idea #2: I looked at the "Barcelona article," and then noticed that the full article link lead to a PDF file. It's probably a good idea to make it clear when links lead to PDF files.

idea #3: clicking on your blog link changes the layout of your page. The normal navigation links on the right side of your page change to "blogroll" and "meta."

idea #4: why is there both a 'INTERIOR DESIGN TIPS' link and also a 'Interior Design Tips' link?

idea #5: why three pages of news and media?

idea #6: finally, why two pages of links?

I like it, but there a couple of things -.

1. When the page was loading all the links on the right site opened up and seemed to go forever.  Could be a Safari thing though.

2. A couple of the links opened down to the same thing.  ie links to links.  Just make the first heading the link.  As to page 2, not important.  Just mention it on the first links page. 

3. When I went to your blog, all your site links disappeared.  Put them back.

The site loaded quickly and the images are nice and clear.  On the whole, I liked how you did the navbar.

I am getting a lot of javascript errors when moving between pages.  Otherwise, it looks pretty cool.  I don't really care for the page load animations, but that is just me.

Some of your links return 404 errors. Some use several sentences as anchor text. viewing the source of your main site I see very little indexable text, the blog is much better. Using JS menus means you need to have a good site map submitted to all of the search engines, (no internal linking structure within the html of the site.)

From a design standpoint, font is real small red on grey is real hard to read.

Spell checking articles before publishing. There are quite a few spelling errors.

Looks like you need to contact your hosting provider concerning server issues.  I'm using Firefox and it turning up website not found.

Having a very very hard time with the font that you have chosen. If you are going to keep the font, I would at least bold it.

If I can be so bold to offer suggestions as I do get paid to do this, I will offer some basic things that will help:

1. I was looking at your code on home page - really need to research keywords (yes, they still mean something and help)

2. Your description is bad also - if I came upon that description, I wouldn't enter because it doesn't say anything to intice me to check you out!

3. Title - one of the most overlooked beginning items to address for SEO...yours (and on each page) actually hurts you, not helps. You can use keywords in your titles and Google for example, loves that when using their search engine, since that is the very 1st thing the web-bot reads when indexing your site.

4. I don't see any analytical code from Google, which you NEED!

5. I just clicked on one of your links - I Just Moved to a House - Now What? -= no longer there. Must fix or remove broken links ASAP
